About the Seminar
Every week, undergraduate and graduate students hold a seminar during free time when there are no classes.

毎週必ず一回、学部生と修士生が授業の無い時間にゼミを行っています。

自然環境での学びを重視しているため、森や山、川などに赴くことがあります。昆虫が苦手な方や、泥や土で汚れることに抵抗がある方は、研究活動において苦労される可能性があります。

本研究室は教育学部に所属していますが、岩石の研究や薄片作成、各種実験など、勉学に多くの時間を費やすことになります。あらかじめご理解ください。

将来、学会発表に意欲的な方を歓迎します。また、有志による国際会議（JpGU）見学会（交通費自己負担）や、鉱物展、国立科学博物館への見学なども毎年行っています。

Requirements for Joining the Laboratory
Our research emphasizes learning in natural environments, which involves fieldwork in forests, mountains, and rivers. If you are uncomfortable with insects or dislike getting dirty with mud or soil, you may find certain aspects of our research challenging.
Although this laboratory is part of the Faculty of Education, our work involves intensive study of rocks, preparation of thin sections, and various experiments. Please be prepared to devote a significant amount of time to academic activities.
We welcome students who are highly motivated to present at academic conferences. In addition, we organize annual field trips (self-funded) to international conferences such as JpGU, as well as visits to mineral exhibitions and the National Museum of Nature and Science.
Students with an interest in Earth science are welcome to join, regardless of their academic background.
Seminar
ゼミでは、各自が毎週、勉学および研究の進捗状況を報告します。互いに問題点を出し合い、チームとしてその解決に取り組みます。研究内容は個人ごとに異なるため、学会発表前には個別面談を行い、内容のブラッシュアップを図ります。
In the seminar, each student reports on their academic and research progress every week. They share their problems with each other and work as a team to solve them. Since the research content varies from person to person, individual interviews are held before academic conferences to refine the content.
Conferences
私たちの研究室では、国際学会への積極的な参加を奨励しています。他大学や他機関の研究者との議論を通じて、自らの研究をブラッシュアップすると同時に、最先端の地球科学を学ぶことを重視しています。
Our laboratory encourages active participation in international conferences. We place great importance on refining our research through discussions with researchers from other universities and institutions, while also learning about the latest developments in earth science.

Field Trip
本研究室では、地球科学分野の特性上、各自での野外調査や、合同での野外巡検を行います。調査結果については、ゼミ内で各自が発表し、知見を共有します。さらに希望者を対象に、有志によるJpGU見学会や国際鉱物展覧会の見学など、幅広い活動も実施しています。
In our laboratory, due to the nature of the earth science field, each student conducts field surveys individually or participates in joint field trips. The results of these surveys are presented by each student within the seminar, allowing for the sharing of knowledge. Additionally, for those who are interested, we organize various activities such as visits to the JpGU exhibition and international mineral exhibitions, led by volunteers.
Experiments
実験は山形大学理学部のラマン分光器、SEM-EDX、EPMA (JXA-8900)を使用して研究を進めます。竹林研究室には偏光顕微鏡、実体顕微鏡、薄片スキャナ等があります。
